This building was built earthquake proof where a pendulum was built in the center of it to allow it to sway as the earth shakes. It is part of the toshgu Shrine built in the 17th Century as a Mausoleum for the Iyeyasu Tokugawa, the First Shogun of the Houes of Tokugawa.
